Perfect fit: how to measure your neck circumference

Measuring the neck circumference for a dog collar is crucial as it can make the difference between a perfect fit and an uncomfortable collar.

A properly fitting collar is key to your dog's comfort and safety.

Step 1: Find the Right Place

• Place the collar around your dog's neck where it will sit naturally, usually at the base of the neck, near the shoulders.
• Make sure the measuring tape is pressed against your neck, but not too tightly. It is best to place two of your fingers under the measuring tape.

Step 2: Measure Accurately

• Hold the tape snugly but not too tight. Record the correct neck length.
• If you are using a string, wrap it around your neck and mark where it overlaps, then measure the circumference with a measuring tape.

Step 3: Consider the amount of hair

• If your dog has thick or fluffy fur, take this into account when measuring, as collars may fit more tightly on furry dogs.

Collar Width Selection:

Choose the right width of the waterproof collar based on the size of your dog:

• 16 mm : Not recommended for dogs weighing more than 8 kg. Suitable for: small breeds
• 19 mm : Suitable for small to medium-sized dogs
• 25 mm : Suitable for medium to large dogs

Choose the right width of the knitted collar based on the size of your dog:

• up to 3 cm : for small to medium breeds (up to approx. 10-12kg)
• over 3 cm : for medium and large breeds

• Small Dogs (up to 8 kg) : 25–35 cm (10–14 inches)
• Medium Dogs (8–25 kg) : 35–50 cm (14–20 inches)
• Large Dogs (25 kg and over) : 50–70 cm (20–28 inches)

Final Tips:

Since the collar is made with an adapter, it is made to have a space of +/- 2 cm. This is very important for dogs with undercoat, as they have a wider neck circumference in the winter than in the summer when their hair falls out.
